Introduction & Photo Gallery

Our visit to Los Alcázares happened almost by chance – although looking back, it felt like one of those fortunate coincidences that lead to unforgettable experiences.

Everything began with a conversation with our friends from Villa Los Alcázares, who spoke about the town with genuine enthusiasm. A few days later, we found ourselves boarding a flight from Łódź to Alicante. After landing, we enjoyed a scenic 90-minute drive as the landscape gradually transformed, revealing that we were approaching Spain’s beautiful Mediterranean coastline.

The peaceful waterfront immediately invites visitors to slow down and enjoy the moment. Charming restaurants line the promenade, while cozy cafés and historic buildings create an authentic Spanish atmosphere. One of our favourite discoveries was a picturesque church standing beside a welcoming café, where birds flew freely through the climbing vines, making the setting feel almost magical.

Travelling here from Poland – whether from Łódź, Poznań, or elsewhere – is surprisingly straightforward, making Los Alcázares an easily accessible destination for a relaxing getaway. We spent four wonderful nights here, and they passed far more quickly than we would have liked.

From the very first moments, Los Alcázares captivated us with its peaceful atmosphere and authentic charm.

Spectacular seaside views provide the backdrop to everyday life, where locals and visitors alike embrace a slower pace filled with sunshine, outdoor cafés, and long conversations over delicious food. Beyond its beaches, the town also offers an unexpected artistic side. Colourful murals decorate buildings throughout the streets, each telling stories inspired by the sea, local traditions, and the community. During our walks, we counted more than ten impressive murals, and we’re certain there are many more waiting to be discovered.

One mural dedicated to artificial intelligence particularly caught our attention with its creative and thought-provoking message.

Things to Do in Los Alcázares

Wondering how to spend your time in Los Alcázares? Here are some of our favourite experiences.

Walk Along the Seafront Promenade

The town’s beautiful promenade stretches for approximately 5.5 kilometres, offering uninterrupted views of the Mar Menor.

Along the way you’ll find numerous cafés, restaurants, beach bars, and scenic viewpoints, making it the perfect place for a relaxing morning walk or a romantic sunset stroll.

Play Golf at Serena Golf

Golf enthusiasts will appreciate Serena Golf, one of the area’s most popular courses. Located just a short distance from the coastline, it offers excellent playing conditions and beautiful Mediterranean scenery throughout the year.

Discover the Mural Route (Ruta de los Murales)

One of the town’s most unique attractions is its Mural Route. Large – scale artworks decorate buildings across different neighbourhoods, portraying themes inspired by the sea, local history, Spanish culture, and everyday life in Los Alcázares.

Following the mural trail is an enjoyable way to explore parts of the town that many visitors never see while discovering fantastic photography opportunities along the way. The route isn’t particularly long, making it easy to combine with a walk along the promenade or a visit to Plaza del Espejo.

Many of these murals were created during local street art festivals and community art initiatives, transforming Los Alcázares into an open-air gallery.

Typical Prices in Los Alcázares

We visited Los Alcázares during the off-season, which naturally helped keep prices lower than during the busy summer months. Even so, the town remains relatively affordable compared to many other Spanish seaside destinations.

One of the first things we noticed was how inexpensive everyday pleasures can be. Enjoying a morning coffee with a sea view costs around €1.50, making it one of the best – and most affordable – ways to start the day.

Dining out is equally good value. A meal in a local restaurant typically costs between €10 and €15 per person, allowing visitors to enjoy authentic Spanish cuisine without stretching their budget.
